Ashley Nance joined Monchamp Meldrum LLP as Counsel in 2021. She advises clients on a variety of matters, including California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) compliance, brownfields redevelopment, environmental due diligence, permitting, project entitlement, and real estate transactions. Ashley counsels clients on key housing laws, including the Density Bonus Law, Housing Accountability Act, and Housing Crisis Act. Ashley has worked on several brownfields projects and has advised clients throughout the regulatory process. She also has extensive experience drafting and negotiating land use and real estate transactional agreements, including regulatory agreements, consulting agreements, land use covenants, and easements. Her experience spans residential, commercial, and industrial developments, with a portfolio that includes mixed-use communities, high-density residential, affordable housing, and large-scale redevelopment projects.
In addition to her environmental and land use practice, Ashley also has experience with corporate transactions relating to emerging companies, venture capital finance, securities offerings, and public company representation. She leverages her insight into the challenges faced by companies at all stages of development to deliver business-focused, practical advice.
Prior to joining the firm, Ashley practiced at skills at Holland & Knight and Sidley Austin.
Ashley is currently a lecturer in Land Use Controls at the University of California Berkeley College of Environmental Design’s Master of Real Estate Development + Design program.
